Léo's Micro-Forest

KBC Brussels, a long-standing sponsor of the Royal Léopold Club in Uccle, created a biodiversity haven right in the heart of the city in early spring 2024. Together with their families, KBC Brussels employees spent a Sunday at the hockey and tennis club planting this micro-forest.
With activities for the children and hockey matches in the background, this wonderful team of 30 SOWers planted no fewer than 600 young trees in Brussels. This project served a dual purpose: the social aspect, thanks to the participatory and engaging nature of the families’ joint effort, but also the environmental aspect, as the micro-forest helps to resolve a problem of ground instability and soil erosion towards Brugmann, a major green space in the municipality of Uccle.
