The Project

With its intergenerational symbolism, this micro-forest of over 250m2 was created at the Résidence Roi Baudouin thanks to the municipality of Woluwé-Saint-Pierre and pupils from the Joli-Bois elementary school. Two classes from the school spent a morning and an afternoon planting these young trees with the staff and residents of the establishment.

This residence, which is home to the municipal CPAS and located in Brussels, is now home to a little lung of oxygen, with 770 trees and shrubs in the CPAS garden. From now on, each resident can observe the evolution of this haven of biodiversity from his or her room or the establishment’s terrace. It’s even possible for young and old from the residence and surrounding area to admire the micro-forest up close, by taking a walk right through the middle of it, on the path specially laid out for the occasion.
